Re-considering the nature of work in complex adaptive organisations – fluid work as a driver of learning through work

Purpose This paper aims to draw on data from a study of professionals’ experiences work and learning framed by complex adaptive systems approach examine the nexus in organisations. Design/methodology/approach The used an adapted phenomenographic conceptual framework (CAOCF) analyse semi-structured interviews with fourteen professionals variety organisations industry sectors within Sydney, Australia. Findings findings highlight that is best described as fluid work. Further, suggest influences towards flexible approaches take place flow Originality/value empirically demonstrates experienced their day-to-day work, well ways which adaptable through participation
